The currency in Antigua is called a Quetzal. The standard exchange rate is 1 US Dollar to 7 Quetzales. While US Dollars are widely accepted throughout Antigua, it is not an official currency so there are places that will not accept it.
We recommend getting Quetzales in advance or upon your arrival in Guatemala City, though you can certainly go to an ATM in Antigua.REMINDER: call your bank(s) in advance if you are planning to use your credit or debit cards in Guatemala!

We’ll be providing transportation to and from the airport to Antigua for your convenience, as well as from the ceremony to the reception. Antigua is extremely walkable—most of our events are less than a 10 minute walk from the lodging options we’re recommending. Renting a car likely won’t be necessary.
